Baseball Has Started

It is not all work & no play.  We have had the chance to go to several Pirate’s games this year.

The first game we went to was a win against the Milwaukee Brewers on April 17th.  It was a 9-3 win with 5 bases loaded situations for the Pirates.  A very exciting game.

We also competed in the Pirates Charities 5K race this year.  It starts out side PNC Park goes into down town Pittsburgh and then circles back around Heinz field and the finish is at home plate in PNC Park.  It was an exciting race.

Tommy finished with the time of 27:45.  He placed 117 out of 309 males age 30-39.  Meredith finished with the time 28:55.  She placed 143 out of 600 females age 20-29.

Our next game was a May 1st loss to the Cincinnati Reds. They lost 5-6.

The latest game we went to was a Tuesday night (5-3) game against the Cubs.  Jake Arrieta was pitching.  Pirate fans were hoping for a decisive win against the pitcher and team that eliminated them in the wild card game last year.  But this was not the case.  It was a 7-1 loss.  The Cubs are a strong team this year and dominated the Pirates.

Meredith made a earthquake proof shelf (not pictured because it is so amazing) and enjoyed cooking and baking.  Meredith was in charge of our early Valentine’s day dinner. (2 out of the 4 dishes came out(the lasagna and the cinnamon rolls both from scratch))
